This year’s Men’s Health Lunch was packed to the rafters in the Members Dining Room of the MCG.
480 guests attended the event last Thursday (9 May) to discuss this year’s topic of mental illness in our community. Sports Physician, Dr Peter Larkins acted as MC and guest speakers included former AFL legend Wayne Schwass and consultant psychiatrist Dr Ranjit Menon.
Both speakers encouraged an authentic discussion about mental health disorders – such as performance anxiety and depression – and the importance of providing opportunities to have genuine conversations about the impact of mental health disorders, strategies to help manage them and where to seek help when required.
Thirteen live auction items were up for grabs including diamond earrings from Anton Jewellers, an AFL Grand Final experience, hospitality with Guy Grossi and a cellar pack from Levantine Hill winery.
In addition, 20 women would have been pleased to have received the Mother’s Day hampers that were for sale on the day packed full of some wonderful spoilers.
Chair of the Special Events Committee, Cathi Biddick paid tribute to major sponsor, Zouki, 20 table sponsors and numerous supporters who helped to raise almost $200,000 which will go towards improving patient care within the mental health service provided at Epworth Camberwell.
